Maurissa

Meet Maurissa – Founder & Creative Director of Mind of Mo Weddings & Events

Maurissa launched Mind of Mo Photography in 2015 with a simple goal: to make high-quality, personal photography accessible and affordable for couples throughout the Midwest. What began as a passion project quickly evolved into Mind of Mo Weddings & Events—a full-service creative company offering not only photography, but also videography, content creation, event planning, coordination, and officiating.

As the heart and hustle behind the brand, Maurissa manages the company’s social media, marketing, and client experience, while also managing 30-40 weddings and events each year. Clients love her laid-back, calm presence paired with sharp organization and an unwavering commitment to going above and beyond—no matter the project.

While based in the Twin Cities, Maurissa specializes in destination events and leads our team on out-of-state adventures. She’s photographed and coordinated weddings and events across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan—with plans to keep growing that list.

Maurissa brings a unique perspective to her work as a creative, planner, and former bride herself. She tied the knot in 2021 after navigating the chaos of a pandemic wedding, so she gets how important it is to have a team that feels like family and works like a dream.

At home, Maurissa and her husband stay busy with their three kids, their energetic pup Dublin, and their mischievous cat Murphy. When she’s not working or parenting (or both), she enjoys hiking, fishing, sipping wine at local vineyards, and reading all the thriller and horror novels she can get her hands on.

Sean

Lead Photographer, Day-Of Coordinator, Videographer + Content Creator, & Officiant

Sean has been a cornerstone of Mind of Mo Weddings & Events since 2015, when he began as Maurissa’s second shooter and assistant. With a lifelong love for photography—especially film—he quickly grew into a versatile and trusted lead photographer, capturing 15–20 weddings and events each year with a signature style that’s both relaxed and refined.

But Sean is much more than a photographer. Over the years, he’s expanded his role to include day-of coordination, videography, content creation, and even officiating. Whether he’s behind the camera, managing a timeline, crafting a highlight reel, or guiding a couple through their vows, Sean brings a calm, capable energy that clients instantly trust.

Sean is especially beloved for his ability to organize large groups quickly, keep events on track, and work magic with kids—which makes him our top recommendation for family, newborn, and senior photo sessions. His experience spans a wide range of weddings and events across Minnesota, North Dakota, and beyond, and he’s built a deep familiarity with venues from Duluth to the Twin Cities to Fargo.

No matter the role, Sean shows up with professionalism, warmth, and a steady hand—making him an invaluable part of the Mind of Mo team.

Outside of weddings and events, Sean enjoys camping, canoeing, gardening, exploring Minnesota’s North Shore, and diving into a good book whenever he gets the chance.

Megan

Lead Photographer, Videographer + Content Creator, & Day-Of Coordinator

Megan began her journey with Mind of Mo Weddings + Events as an assistant photographer in 2018 and quickly rose to lead photographer by 2019. Over the years, she has become an essential part of the team, now managing a full calendar filled with photography, day-of coordination, video, and content creation.

Megan brings experience from a wide range of venues across the state—everything from rustic farm weddings to elegant ballroom affairs. Known for her strong work ethic and genuine care for her couples, Megan is the kind of professional who goes above and beyond to ensure every detail is just right.

When she’s not working weddings, Megan loves spending time with her family and friends (she’s definitely the social type!). She enjoys fishing, being outdoors, and is currently teaching herself woodworking with a lathe—how cool is that?

Raquel

Lead Photographer, Day-Of Coordinator, Videographer & Content Creator

Raquel joined the Mind of Mo Weddings + Events team in 2025, but her connection started long before that—as a Mind of Mo bride! After working with Maurissa for her wedding, maternity photos, and her son’s first birthday shoot (plus a 30th birthday session with Sean and newborn photos with Megan), Raquel knew she had to be part of the magic. Her experience as a client turned into a passion for the work behind the scenes.

With a background in photography as part of her Bachelor’s degree, Raquel has a great eye—especially for candid moments that capture true emotion. In addition to photography, she now also brings her talents to wedding and event planning, coordination, and video + content creation. After spending 14 years in the aquatics world, she discovered a surprise spark for events, and has been running with it ever since.

Outside of weddings, Raquel loves spending time with her family, swimming, diving into a good book, and dominating card games and Yahtzee nights.

Blair

Lead Photographer, Videographer + Content Creator

Blair was introduced to the Mind of Mo Weddings + Events team when he met his now-wife, Maurissa—and she (mostly kidding) suckered him into joining the crew! Since then, Blair has become a valued team member, bringing great energy and a laid-back, goofy vibe to every wedding day. While he currently works as a photographer and videographer for the team, we are convinced that officiating is in his future, mostly because he never seems to stop talking (at least that's what his wife says). Blair also works as an assistant coordinator for our team.

Blair’s style is a perfect balance of fun and focused—he knows how to keep things light while staying on top of the day’s timeline and capturing important moments with care and professionalism.

Outside of weddings, Blair enjoys shooting pool, golfing, eating a good steak, and crafting the perfect old fashioned. Born and raised in the Chaska area, he now lives in Belle Plaine with Maurissa, their three kids, and their furry family members.

Rebecca

Lead Photographer, Day-Of Coordinator, Videographer + Content Creator

Rebecca brings creativity, warmth, and a sense of adventure to the Mind of Mo team. A self-proclaimed Halloween and all-things-spooky enthusiast, she’s always drawn to the fun, imaginative side of life. Rebecca is creative at heart and loves crafting, designing, and bringing ideas to life—something that naturally translates into the way she approaches weddings and events.
Outside of events, Rebecca is a full-time AP Esthetician who is passionate about skincare, self-care, and continuing education in her field. She’s also an avid traveler and adventure lover who enjoys camping, exploring new places, and making memories along the way. As a new mom, she’s embracing a season of balance, growth, and learning to appreciate life’s meaningful moments even more.
Rebecca has always had a deep love for photography and believes photos are one of the most powerful ways to hold onto memories. That appreciation for meaningful moments is something she brings to every celebration she’s part of, helping couples preserve the memories that will last long after the wedding day.
